Services & Fees
Sessions are 50 minutes ($150) or 80 minutes ($225), and are in-person or virtual (by phone or video link) — you choose.
Therapy is provided to adults and teens (16+) who are living in Nova Scotia (or anywhere across Canada)
There are no cancellation fees (although I will start charging a cancellation fee if you have multiple late-cancellations — and this fee is not covered by insurance companies)
Most private health insurance covers therapy. Check your insurance policy to see if “counselling therapist” or “registered counsellor” is an approved provider under your coverage.
Direct billing is available (depending on your coverage) for: GreenShield, Manulife, Chambers of Commerce, Johnston Group, Canada Life, Medavie Blue Cross/Blue Cross, Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) and Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC).
Consultation:
15 minutes
This free 15-minute meeting is an opportunity for us to learn a bit more about each other.
I will tell you about myself and my approach. I will also ask you a few questions such as why you are interested in therapy, what your availability is, and whether you want to meet in-person or virtually.
You can ask me any questions that will help you to decide whether we are a good fit. You don’t have to make a decision in the Consultation, you can take time to decide. If you do want to work together, I can book an Intake Session for you or I can create a client profile for you so that you can book the Intake Session.
Intake Session:
50 minutes
An Intake form and an Intake session are required for all new clients. Prior to meeting, I will send you an Intake Form to complete. I will use the information you provide as a guide during our Intake Session.
During the Intake Session, I will give you more information about my approach and what to expect. I will also review Informed Consent and answer any questions you may have.
I will then ask you more questions to get a better understanding of your life, the challenges that you are facing, and how you have tried to address these challenges (what has worked and what has not worked so well).
Therapy Sessions
50 or 80 minutes
On-going therapy sessions are tailored to your needs and the goals you want to achieve. Each session is based on how we want to proceed — and we decide on this together. Your feedback and input are helpful to ensure that you get what you want out of therapy.
You can choose 50-minute sessions or 80-minute (1 hour and 20 minutes) sessions — whatever works best for you.
If useful, I provide strategies to practice between sessions, community resources, and/or links.
